Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will be allowed to prove his fitness for this summer’s World Cup by starting against Norwich City on Sunday for Arsenals last Premier League game of the season just 24-hours before Roy Hodgson names his 23 man squad for the World Cup.

It will be the first time the England midfielder will have played in two months after suffering a broken foot during an England friendly with Denmark back in early March.

The England manager has been in regular contact with Wenger over Wilshere’s fitness and also Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin who Wenger admits might not be fit for the run out against Norwich or even the FA Cup final against Hull later in the month.

Hodgson is also in two minds about selecting Everton’s Ross Barkley despite the youngster putting in some fine performances for the Toffee’s this season.
