Arsenal is the team who have contacted Juventus about STRIKER TARGET and not Manchester United

Arsene manager Arsene Wenger along with Louis van Gaal are both looking to sign an accomplished striker this summer, but according to British tabloid The Sun, Arsenal is the team to have contacted Italian champions Juventus to enquire about the availability of former Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente.

A top club source in Turin told reporters: “It’s Arsenal who’ve been in contact – not United.

“They have made an inquiry but there is no bid yet. But it is clear they are interested and it is also clear that Juventus are ready to listen.”

The now 30-year-old joined Juventus on a free transfer back in July of 2013 and represents a quality player who could be available for a very reasonable price, with talk SPORT now claiming the Gunners have launched an £8.5 million bid for the man who goes by the nickname of El Rey León.

This to us seems like a reasonable price given the fact Juventus got him for free, and even if he did not feature for the Gunners each week he is certainly a powerful force to have sitting on the substitute bench and would make the perfect back-up should Olivier Giroud become injured.

This would be a good signing for Arsenal, and fans need not worry as he is not that top striker that Arsene Wenger wants to sign, but merely cover for what should be an exciting season at the Emirates.
