Arsenal is once more following the news regarding Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic who since moving to Spain in the summer has fallen down the pecking order to an inform Fernando Torres at the Vicente Calderon.

Reports now coming out of Spain carried by the Daily Express claim that the 28-year-old is about to be offered to both Arsenal and Manchester City for £26 million.

City meanwhile have just signed Swansea striker Wilfried Bony, and should they now go after Mandzukic it would probably involve Stevan Jovetic returning to Italy.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could perhaps be tempted now that he has secured the signing of Gabriel Paulista and let both Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell leave the club on loan but at £26 million we here at Soccer Transfers feel it is a deal that will not happen with Giroud and Welbeck in the squad.
