Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering making an Audacious raid on Manchester United for British record signing , Argentinian winger Angel Di Maria.
Di Maria moved to Old Trafford last summer from Real Madrid, and despite a promising start faded away to become a huge embarrassment for the people who had signed him, with questions being asked about the £59.7 million they had paid to the Spanish giants.
Since then United has been pondering whether or not to sell him with both Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich said to be interested.
Given the Argentinians performance last season it is highly unlikely that the Red Devils will get their money back, but with Arsenal now interested in his services it is feasible to conceive that United could now sell for a short loss or keep him in the hope that the 27-year-old has a good season and lives up to his high price tag.
As for us here at Soccer Transfers we would love to see Di Maria at the Emirates, as we feel Arsenal’s style of football, and being able to play with former Real Madrid teammate Mesut Ozil would suit him down to the ground. Will it happen? We would be very pleasantly surprised.
