Arsenal are getting ready to make a January bid for Real Sociedad wide man Antoine Griezmann with the aim of getting him on board as soon as possible.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has the funds in place to bolster his squad in the New Year as the Gunners hope to extend their lead in the Premiership and continue their progress in the Champions League.
The 64-year-old Frenchman has already earmarked his spending money for a couple of top attackers, and while an all out striker is a priority Griezmann would also add competition out on the wing.
The Spanish La Liga club would love to hold on to one of their best players, but a club source told MARCA that if they received the right offer they would sell.
‘We want to keep him for as long as possible,’ a club source told Marca.
‘But we have a battle to convince him to stay – we know clubs are interested in him.’
The question is however how much is Arsenal prepared to pay with the Spanish club valuing him at around £20 million.
