According to reports in France Arsenal is now one of three Premiership clubs chasing Caen midfielder N’Golo Kante that include Newcastle and Southampton.
The 24-year-old who was born in Paris to immigrants from the land-locked West African country of Mali has impressed scouts from various clubs this season with his impressive displays for Caen that has led to Ligue 1 side Marseille already making enquiries as to his availability in the summer.
L’Equipe says that Caen will probably looking to receive bids of £5 million and up for the central midfielder and with speculation that Newcastle may lose their own French midfield star Moussa Sissoko the Magpies are keeping a close watch on Kante who they see as the perfect replacement.
