Metro is reporting this morning that Arsenal are on the brink of signing Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels for £31.5 million and that talks have now reached an advanced stage.
Arsenal have been linked strongly for a move on the German national team captain for several weeks now as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger looks to beef up his defensive problems by adding a quality centre-back to the team.
This news comes despite interest from rivals Manchester United who are also looking at Hummels and Real Madrid defensive midfielder Sami Khedira.
Arsenal however appear to be in the driving seat to sign the 25-year-old after the Westphalia side made it know they would consider any reasonable offer which £31.5 million certainly is.
