Arsenal has sent a message to the rest of the Premiership

In what turned out to be a devastating 20 minutes for Manchester United Arsenal has shown the rest of the Premiership clubs just what they are capable of after the Gunners went 2-0 up within seven minutes of the kick-off thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil before Sanchez made it 3-0 on 19 minutes with a thunderous shot into the top corner of the net.

It was the perfect comeback for the north London club after their disastrous 3-2 against Olympiacos in the Champions League, and has striker Theo Walcott claiming that they are now genuine title contenders.

“This sends a message that we’re here to be recognised without doubt,” Walcott said.

“There was a desire from kick-off, we looked very strong and were dominating at home against a big team and we should be playing like that every week.

“The players will be aching after that one, we worked so hard and rightly so.

“That was all for the manager.

“That first-half we were unbelievable, no-one could have dealt with us, it was the best football I have ever been involved in. It was the Arsenal of old.”
