According to reports Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny could be on his way to Southampton, where he will cover for the injured Fraser Forster.

The 25-year-old Polish international has fallen down the pecking order following a dreadful display against Southampton on New Years’ Day that saw the Gunners lose 2-0 thanks to two costly errors by the then No.1 keeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Following the match the Pole was caught smoking in the showers and dropped by manager Arsene Wenger in favour of Colombian international David Ospina who has now taken over Szczesny’s place as the Gunners starter.

Forster is expected to miss most of next season through injury, and the Saints are willing to offer Szczesny a season long loan deal that he will probably jump on as he would be back in the limelight as a starter at St Mary’s.
