Arsenal goalkeeper on his way to Goodison Park

Since the arrival of Petr Cech at Arsenal, it has been on the cards that either Wojciech Szczesny or David Ospina were going to leave the Emirates after becoming surplus to requirements.

After the season Colombian international Ospina had with the Gunners, most people would have thought it would be Szczesny who was on the way out, but it could in fact be Ospina after Everton manager Roberto Martinez has marked him out as a possible replacement for 36-year-old American goalkeeper Tim Howard.

“They are a very competitive team, which showed significant things during the last season,” said Ospina.

“With a good manager and they play good football, it is a team to take into account and a great possibility.”

It would also bring with it an increase in pay as well as first team football each week, so no matter how much the 26-year-old may like life at Arsenal he is unlikely to say no to Everton should the Toffee’s come knocking.
