Arsenal’s Polish international goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is ready to hit the ground running following his season long lone to Italian Serie A side AS Roma.

The 25-year-old was dropped from Arsene Wenger’s team following a dreadful display at Southampton on New Year’s Day, and now following the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea to take over the No.1 duties at the Emirates there was no place in the team for the young Pole at least for the time being.

Szczesny however is being positive about the whole affair and is looking forward to the challenges he faces playing in Italy.

He said: “I’ve come here to win matches and trophies with Roma and I think the team are strong enough to do that. I think there’s great potential here.

“I already know the faces and the names of my new team-mates and I’m hoping to get settled here quickly.”
