Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski appears to be on the verge of joining Italian Serie A side Inter Milan according to reports in the Italian press carried by the Daily Express.

The reports suggest that a deal between the two clubs is almost done with Inter’s new manager Roberto Mancini looking to strengthen the squad in January.

The completed deal will be a season-long loan with the Gunners asking for a large fee of £5 million despite the Italians saying they are only prepared to pay £3 million.

World Cup winner Podolski has yet to play 90-minutes in the Premier League this season and has become frustrated with always having to start on the bench.

Podolski has expressed his concern over playing time which has alerted his former club Cologne along with Roma and Napoli, but despite their interest Inter Milan looks to be the favourite to sign the 29-year-old.
