According to reports in Italy, Liverpool and Tottenham have entered the race to compete with Arsenal for the signature of AS Roma striker Umar Sadiq.

The 19-year-old Nigerian youngster has had a banner season in the eternal city scoring two goals during six Serie A appearances and a further 19 goals in 18 games while in action for the clubs youth team.

Despite Gunners boss Arsene Wenger thinking he had found a good value young striker full of potential, Italian football daily La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Liverpool, Tottenham and French club Lyon are also ready to compete with Arsenal for his signature.

Right now Sadiq is owned by Serie B side Spezia, but on loan at Roma, who plan to make the loan deal permanent and then sell him on at a profit.

Rival Italian football daily Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Roma will sign him for £2 million and that director of football Walter Sabatini will then sell him on for a profit after compiling a list of several clubs that have expressed an interest in the teenager.

The Italian newspapers suggest that with so many teams wanting to sign the young Nigerian, he could end up being sold for in excess of £15 million.
