Arsene Wenger is once again casting an eye over La Liga for potential signings, and is reportedly considering a €15 million bid for Sevilla’s Jesus Navas, Spanish reports suggest.

Arsenal Look to Continue Spanish Spending With Move For Sevilla Star

After signing Malaga’s Santi Cazorla for £15 million earlier this summer, the French manager has identified the 26-year-old winger Navas as a viable target, Spanish publication AS report. Wenger has been tracking the progress of the lively wide player for a number of years, AS state, and after nine seasons at the Andalucian club, Navas may consider a change.

Navas was a member of the Spain squad that retained their European Championship crown this summer, scoring a crucial group stage winner against Croatia, and Wenger is reportedly ready to investigate Sevilla’s stance on the player, with an opening bid of €15 million.

The Arsenal manager may also have Theo Walcott’s ongoing contract situation in mind, too. The 23-year old England international has entered the last year of his contract at The Emirates, and is yet to sign a new deal at the club. There is a worry that Walcott could leave Arsenal next summer for nothing and join a rival club.

Following the sales of Robin Van Persie to Manchester United and Alex Song to Barcelona within the space of a week, Arsenal fans have been left needing some reassurances over the club’s ambition. Navas, who has spent his entire career at Sevilla comes highly recommended from new signing Cazorla, and would go some way to appeasing frustrated Gunners.
