Arsenal is talking to AS Roma about 20-year-old centre-back Alessio Romagnoli, according to reports coming out of Italy.
The Roma youngster spent all of last season on loan at Sampdoria, and is rated as one of the world’s best defensive prospects.
AC Milan like the look of him so much that they have already had three bids knocked back for him according to Gazzetta dello Sport who now say Arsenal is considering making an offer.
So far no one has come anywhere near Roma’s £24 million valuation, and even though Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger said he would be signing no more defenders this summer Romagnoli is good enough for him to change his mind.
