According to Tom Hopkinson in the Sunday People newly promoted Burnley is set to make an audacious move for free agent Nicklas Bendtner after Arsenal cut the Danish international striker lose.

Bendtner was not offered a new deal at the Emirates after having broken the rules more than once including going AWOL in Copenhagen and running afoul of the police.

Clarets boss Sean Dyche however sees the big Dane as an inexpensive way to bolster his squad ahead of next seasons step up to the big league and is hoping that Bendtner would like to show Arsene Wenger how he was wrong in not sticking with him.

The 26-year-old striker has also been mentioned as being a target of Tony Pulis at Crystal Palace along with Russian side Rubin Kazan showing an interest.

Bendtner however is in no rush to sign any deals and will be hoping that a better offer than the chance to play at Turf Moor will be put on the table before he commits to his future.
