Arsenal boss is prepared to spend big if the RIGHT PLAYER is available

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to break the clubs record signing of £42.5 million, when they signed Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid two summers ago, but the soon to be 66-year-old has reiterated that he will only splash the cash if the right player is available.

Club director Lord Harris got the fans tongues wagging when he revealed the club had £200 million in the bank, and that the money was available to Wenger to use to bring in new players.

Everyone knows that Arsenal is still in the market for a top-striker and that Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema would be Wenger’s preferred choice, but the Frenchman tried to play down expectations ahead of this weekend’s Emirates Cup ties against Lyon and Wolfsburg.

“If there is something more, we are not reluctant to spend the money. I know that you like to paint me as doing that.

“I didn’t do it for a while because we didn’t have the money. Now that we have, if we find the players we will spend the money.”
