Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger REVEALS how Arsenal will win the Premiership title

Before we hear what Wenger has to say, it is evident to all Arsenal fans that the Gunners must score more goals if they are to have any hope of winning the Premiership, yet despite this he still refuses to promise that he will sign a World Class striker to give Arsenal that final edge that they need.

Yet even though the soon to be 66-year-old Frenchman has in the past said his side have been ten goals short of where they needed to be in recent seasons, he still sticks with this belief that the goals will come if he spreads the ball around, even though the evidence points to the opposite.

Since the departure of Robin Van Persie in 2012, Arsenal has languished in fifth place among the other Premiership sides with Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all scoring more goals.

When told that that the recent title winners have all scored more goals than Arsenal, Wenger replied: “You are right. Our target is to improve our number. We want to combine good defensive efficiency with 10 more goals.

“In the second part of last season we only conceded 13 goals in 19 games. So we want to keep that and add a few more goals.

“I think we can find that from inside, I am convinced of that. We have enough goals in the squad. What we want is some more goals from some players who are not really strikers. That was our strength traditionally.

“The players who were offensive and creative players scored 10 to 12 goals, that’s what you need. But if we can find it from outside then we will do it as well.”

Despite admitting what his side is lacking, Wenger remains steadfast that the goals will eventually come, while statistics prove he is absolutely wrong and that Arsenal’s failure to win the title is all down to goals.

Since Robin van Persie’s 30 goal season not one Arsenal player has even come close to emulating the Dutchman, with his replacement Olivier Giroud having an average just 14 goals per-season, not even half of what van Persie did in his final year at the Emirates, yet despite this Wenger still has faith in the former Montpellier striker.

“He has gone through a bad spell but he’s not the only striker we have,” said Wenger. “Danny Welbeck is an English international, Alexis Sanchez is a Chilean international, Theo Walcott is an English international, Olivier Giroud is a French international – I can go on like that.

“We have plenty of strikers but sometimes players go through bad periods. Goal scoring is a bit more cyclic than any other activity in the team and when they go through a bad spell they leave their place for somebody else.”

Already missing from the start of the season is Danny Welbeck, but Wenger is certain he will return to the team soon.

“He is supposed to start to go outside and run again this weekend and from now on, if that is positive, in the next three weeks he will be available,” said Wenger.
