Arsenal Approaches Rivals over 26 Goal-a-Season Striker

Arsenal has opened negotiations with Manchester City over Bosnian international striker Edin Dzeko after having been linked with a move for the 29-year-old in recent days.

And now according to reports in Spain Arsenal has made their move as top-strikers become thin on the ground following Christian Benteke signing for Liverpool, Alexandre Lacazette committing his future to Lyon and both Edinson Cavani and Karim Benzema seemingly happy at their current clubs.

Add to this Manchester United desire to offer Bayern Munich ridiculous sums of money for Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski, and Dzeko suddenly appears like a bargain.

The report claims Wenger is sounding out City with a £14 million offer while the boys at the Etihad, who are not short a few quid hold out for their £20 million valuation.

Dzeko did not get much playing time last season with City, but did score 26 goals the season before, which is surely enough to make Wenger happy if he can replicate it at the Emirates.
