French striker Alexandre Lacazette will not be leaving Lyon in January according to club president Michel Aulas.

The 23-year-old has been in fantastic form for the Ligue1 side scoring 19 goals in 20 appearances to help put them in second place two points behind leaders Marseille.

Thus run of form has scouts from both Arsenal and Liverpool closely watching his progress.

Club president Aulas has played down any talk of Lacazette and any other Lyon players being sold in January.

“We have prepared so that there are no departures and it is certain to be that way,” Aulas told Olympique Lyon TV.

“The return from injury of Yoann Gourcuff, Clément Grenier and Gueïda Fofana will be the internal transfer window for Lyon.

“There will be no signings as it would be financially nonsensical, but also mental. The players who are leaving for the African Cup of Nations must find their place in Lyon when they return.”
