Reports in France suggest Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to make PSG hitman Kevin Gameiro his latest summer signing.

Arsenal ‘make £16 million bid’ for French striker

Arsenal have made a bid believed to be worth £16 million for striker Kevin Gameiro, according to reports in France.
Broadcaster Canal+ is claiming that the Gunners are desperate to land the 25-year-old, who currently plays for mega-rich Ligue 1 outfit Paris St Germain.
Gameiro was an important part of the side which eventually had to settle for second place behind Montpellier last season, scoring 11 goals in 27 league games.
The Gunners are determined to prove their ambition to captain Robin van Persie, who has just 12 months remaining on his contract and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer.
A lack of viable back-up options for the Dutch star was a major problem for Arsenal last season, with Marouane Chamakh and Ju-Young Park both failing to impress.
However, with the signing of Lukas Podolski already in the bag, it appears boss Arsene Wenger is looking to further rectify the situation with the addition of Gameiro.
Arsenal only managed to qualify for the Champions League on the final day of a topsy-turvy campaign and Wenger will not want to endure a repeat next term.
The Gunners are priced at 1/2 to make the top four in 2012/13, while anyone backing them to win the Premier League title can get stuck into odds of 8/1.
In other words, punters using their free £25 bet for registering with bwin on this selection will pocket £225 if Wenger delivers his first championship since 2004.
Gameiro, who signed for PSG in an €11 million deal from Lorient last summer, has won eight caps for France but did not make the cut for their Euro 2012 squad
