For several weeks now Manchester United has been negotiating with Argentinian international goalkeeper Sergio Romero, with the news that the 28-year-old is about to sign a three-year contract with Manchester United as early as today.

According to football transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio, a deal for the former Sampdoria shot-stopper is almost done and dusted with just his medical to complete before his move to Old Trafford is complete.

Romero will be used as Manchester United’s number-two following manager Louis van Gaal deciding to sell Victor Valdes due to the Spaniard going against his philosophy and the club, with the decision as to who will be the Red Devils starter next season still uncertain while Manchester United and Real Madrid still try and sort out a deal for current United number one David De Gea.
