Another poor performance by Liverpool as the pressure mounts on Rodgers

Following last night’s Europa League 1-1 draw against Swiss minnows Sion Liverpool’s players were booed off the pitch for the third time in four games following yet another disappointing performance at Anfield.

The result following the previous 1-1 draw against Bordeaux in France leaves Liverpool second in Group B ahead of the 4,100 mile trip to Russia where they will play Rubin Kazan in November.

“You have to be clinical,” said Rodgers. “We scored a good goal, but they weren’t half-chances we missed, they were really good chances. Unless you score them you don’t win. We’re disappointed.”

Lallana added: “We need to win our home games. No excuses, I should have had a second and Divock Origi had a few good opportunities.”

Next up for Liverpool is a trip across Stanley Park this weekend to play Everton in the Merseyside derby, with Rodgers knowing that another loss will just add to the pressure he is already under.
