Despite a big loss over the weekend at Liverpool and Chelsea beating Newcastle to go top of the league football pundit Andy Gray thinks there is plenty of time to knock Chelsea off the top spot, and they can start by beating Manchester United on Wednesday night.

“I wouldn’t write them off just yet. I really wouldn’t,” Gray said, speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.

“They did get thumped 6-3 at the Etihad earlier this season and then went on a ten game unbeaten run. Their league fixtures actually aren’t that unkind to them in the next month.

“I think they are capable of getting back on track. They are certainly capable of beating Manchester United on Wednesday night. If they do that, then they will be talking again.

“You can have days like that. We have all had them. Let’s see how they respond. A true championship side will respond in the right way.

“I think Manchester United is a great game. There is no way players can hide in this game.”
