Carlo Ancelotti Teal Madrid’s coach has now confirmed that the club is in talks with Tottenham over their star winger Gareth Bale.

This follows reports that the Spanish giants are ready to smash the world record fee of £80 million that they paid to Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2009.

Speaking during a news conference at their Los Angeles training camp ahead of a game with the Los Angeles galaxy to be played on Sunday Ancelotti said:

“I believe the club is in talks to find a solution and we will see what happens.”

“It is difficult to talk about Bale because he is not a Real Madrid player at present,” he added.

“I have never spoken to him. I do not usually talk to players who are not from my team and it would not be fair to do so.”

Ancelotti went on to say that there was no truth in the rumour that former Spurs player Luka Modric would be returning to White Hart Lane in order for the Bale transfer to go through.

“It is not true that Modric is going,” said the Italian. “He is a very important player for us and he will be here this season.”
