The big news all Arsenal fans are waiting to hear is that the club has signed Karim Benzema from Real Madrid, and while we cannot tell you that it is going to happen we can say that manager Arsene Wenger has told the French international that the door at the Emirates is open for him should he decide to move.

It is still early days under the new regime of Rafa Benitez at the Santiago Bernabeu, but should the 27-year-old find himself on the bench; a move to London could certainly be on the cards.

In other news defender Laurent Koscielny has claimed that the Gunners back-four will be “more serene” following the arrival of goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea saying: “Petr has played 11 years in England, and made more than 300 appearances in the Premier League, and has won a lot of trophies.

“He is professional, you felt that in his first training session. He talks a lot, and his position that’s very important. He will do well with us and when you have a good keeper like this behind you, you are more serene.”

Meanwhile Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin has signed a new long-term deal at the Emirates, after an injury to Mathieu Debuchy last season gave him the opportunity to show that he belonged in Arsene Wenger’s starting XI.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis is looking to sign Germany U-21 winger Serge Gnabry on a season-long loan at the Hawthorns, and hopes manager Arsene Wenger will see it as a way to expose the 20-year-old from Stuttgart to more of what it is like to play fulltime in the English Premiership.

Arsenal is also being linked with a move for Barcelona forward Pedro, but with Chelsea and now Manchester United involved in signing him he could go for more than the £22 million the Catalan giants are asking, and while he would be a good fit for any of the teams that want to sign him, Arsenal will probably now pass while they patiently wait for Benzema to make his move.
