Liverpool will make a move for Swansea’s Ashley Williams if Daniel Agger moves to Manchester City.

Agger two? Rodgers set to raid Swans for Williams to replace City targe

The Reds’ new manager Brendan Rodgers knows Williams well, after working with him at the Welsh side for the past two seasons.

City have so far failed with two bids for Agger, but Liverpool are willing to let the Danish centre-back leave for a fee of around £23million.

Wales international Williams, 27, could then make the switch to Merseyside to be reunited with his former boss.

Midfielder Joe Allen has already teamed up with Rodgers again, making a £15m switch to Liverpool, and Williams could be next.

Swansea also face losing full-back Neil Taylor, who has emerged as a potential Manchester United signing.
