TalkSPORT football pundit Andy Gray thinks that Manuel Pellegrini’s time as manager of Manchester City is coming to an end following the Citizens exit from the Champions League last night at the hands of Barcelona who out classed the Premier League champions winning 3-1 on aggregate.

Should the Chilean manager be heading for the exit door the Qatari backed club will be looking to bring in a big name replacement with both Madrid team managers Carlo Ancelotti and Diego Simeone being mentioned as possible replacements at the Etihad.

And football expert Gray believes that is just what the men upstairs at the club are preparing to do.

“I don’t think Manuel Pellegrini will be there next season,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. “Manchester City need change.

“There’s a real good chance that they’ll go looking for someone else.

“There are some top managers available at the end of the year and they might appeal to Manchester City.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if Manuel Pellegrini is sacked.”
