Manchester United and Arsenal have both been tracking Athletic Bilbao centre-back Aymeric Laporte with a view to bringing him to the Premiership next summer.
The young French star has played 21 full La Liga matches this season to help his side remain just below mid-table with 24 points, with the club only conceding seven goals in their last five matches, which in not too bad when you consider five of those goals were against Lionel Messi’s Barcelona.
When asked by Spanish daily sports newspaper AS about his future and a possible move to England’s top-flight the 20-year-old said: “Here there are many people of experience and I’m learning a lot from them.
“I have played a lot of games and I want to continue to do what I’m doing.”
