ASHLEY COLE’S Chelsea future continues to be in doubt.
His contract talks over a new, lucrative deal continue to run into a brick wall.
Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid is monitoring the situation, although Carlo Ancelotti, another ex-boss, rejected rumours yesterday linking him with Cole.
The England international is believed to want around the £200,000-a-week mark, putting him alongside the likes of John Terry, Frank Lampard and newcomer Eden Hazard.
Chelsea aren’t keen on forking out big money for a player over 30 but also know they could lose him for nothing when his contract expires in 2013.
The left-back, 31, has no shortage of admirers with Mourinho openly interested.
Ancelotti, who has spent big this summer, insists he is not planning a move for Cole as he claims PSG have finished their summer cashfest.
He said: “The transfer window is over for us. The club did a good job. All the news from England about Cole are just rumours.”
