According to Monday mornings Corriere dello Sport Italian Serie A side Sampdoria wants to sign Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli on a season long loan, but need the Merseyside club to help out with the finances to make a deal happen.

Super Mario’s performance at Anfield was anything but stellar following his £16 million move from AC Milan scoring just one goal in the Premiership for Liverpool last season.

Ideally Liverpool would like to try and sell the 24-year-old striker, but given his form and the fact he earns £110,000 per-week will be hard pressed to find a club that wants him, and if they did they would probably have to take a big loss.

This is where Sampdoria now comes into play hoping to agree a lone deal with Liverpool providing Liverpool helps them meet part of Balotelli’s salary, but the Italian newspaper fails to say just how much Liverpool would be paying.

It is an option however as sitting on the bench at Anfield will not help Liverpool get any of their money back where as a return to form in Italy just might.
